BGMEA election underway

Voting in Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) biennial polls for the 2013-2014 tenure is underway on Sunday.

Two panels, combined Forum and combined council are participating in the election this time.
The voting began at 8am and will continue till 5pm in Dhaka and Chittagong. Vote will be cast for a total of 20 posts for Dhaka and seven for Chittagong.
Meanwhile, the time for casting votes might be extended if required.
Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) president and Shamsul Amin Group chairman Jahangir Alamin is playing the role of the election commissioner along with two others.
The total voters are 3196. Of them, 2592 voters are from Dhaka and 604 from Chittagong. However, 225 fake voters were found, said source.
