The 92nd birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will
be observed as the National Children’s Day in a befitting manner on
Sunday with the slogan of ‘we shall build Bangabandhu’s Bangladesh on
the spirit of the independence’.
On this day in 1920, the great leader was born to Sheikh Lutfur Rahman
and Saira Khatun in a respectable Muslim family at the remote Tungipara
village in Gopalganj district.
As part of the national programme, Prime Minister and Awami League
president Sheikh Hasina along with her party stalwarts and members of
the cabinet will lay wreaths at the Mazar of the great leader at
Tungipara at 10 am.
The cultural affairs ministry, Religious affairs ministry, Social
affairs ministry, Bangla Academy, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Nazrul
Institute, Islamic Foundation and other institutions have organised
discussions and cultural programmes to mark the day
