Bangabandhu’s 92nd birth anniversary Sunday

The 92nd birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be observed as the National Children’s Day in a befitting manner on Sunday with the slogan of ‘we shall build Bangabandhu’s Bangladesh on the spirit of the independence’.

On this day in 1920, the great leader was born to Sheikh Lutfur Rahman and Saira Khatun in a respectable Muslim family at the remote Tungipara village in Gopalganj district.
As part of the national programme, Prime Minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina along with her party stalwarts and members of the cabinet will lay wreaths at the Mazar of the great leader at Tungipara at 10 am.
The cultural affairs ministry, Religious affairs ministry, Social affairs ministry, Bangla Academy, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Nazrul Institute, Islamic Foundation and other institutions have organised discussions and cultural programmes to mark the day
